Hi, I’m Yvon Rivera, and teaching has always been my passion. With a foundation in Montessori education and years of hands-on experience as a Spanish tutor, I’ve dedicated my career to creating learning environments where curiosity and confidence can grow. Since 2015, I’ve worked as a Montessori Guide, helping children ages 2 to 5 discover the joy of learning through independence and exploration. I love seeing their eyes light up when they realize they can do things on their own—it’s one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
In 2017, I expanded my teaching into Spanish language education, working with several Plano ISD elementary schools in after-school programs. What started with one school quickly grew into six, and it’s been amazing to watch the program flourish and become so well-received by students and families. At each school, I create lesson plans tailored to the age, level, and needs of the students, combining Montessori principles with interactive activities that make learning Spanish natural and fun. From preschoolers learning their first words to older kids forming full sentences, I make sure every student feels engaged and encouraged.
Through Gabe’s Spanish Academy, I’ve also had the chance to connect with students of all ages—kids, teenagers, and adults—whether online or in person. My lessons are designed to go beyond memorization, focusing instead on building real communication skills and confidence. I truly enjoy adapting my teaching style to fit each learner, whether they’re just starting out or polishing advanced skills.
For me, teaching isn’t just about language or academics—it’s about inspiring lifelong learners. Whether guiding preschoolers in a Montessori classroom or helping someone discover the beauty of Spanish, I’m committed to making learning a joyful and empowering experience for every student I meet.
